KZN student is suspended controversial anger with a teacher

KwaZulu-Natal’s 20-year-old student has been reportedly suspended after he was involved in a vehement controversial communication with a teacher at the Hammarsdale school. The department of education reported the incident on Monday.

Kwazi Mthethwa, the spokesperson of the Education Department, said that they are going to suspend the student swiftly without having any sort of physical confrontation involving the teacher. The incident took place at Luthayi High School.

Moreover, the KZN education department has decided to suspend the pupil effective immediately after an unresolved disciplinary hearing. The Education Department has also notified to the common public that they will organize the conference in the next five working days following the incident.

According to the reports, a group of teachers and fellow students rushed to break up the fight. Colonel Thembeka Mbele, the spokesperson of the regional police, said that the teacher involved in the incident took the case to the higher authority. Moreover, the teacher also opened up a case file related to the assault on Saturday, soon after the incident took place.

Colonel Mbele said report states that the students who accumulate education in Luthayi High School allegedly assault the teacher. And now, it has become an assault case that would have led to the harming of a person. Additionally, the teacher has opened a physical harming case at the police station of Mpumalanga.

Kwazi Mshengu, the MEC of Education, said that the department is going to determine a proper course of action to tackle this problem. For a long time, the department has been extremely intolerant concerning abusive offenses like intimidation, drug dealing, assault, bullying as well as sexual violence.

Furthermore, the department will also monitor the entire matter, and late provide the necessary steps which are needed to support the victim. In the meantime, the Education Department confirmed that irrespective of the clash, the student can appear in the examination.
