Yesterday, around 161 students reportedly received their graduation degrees from DI, Doha Institute of Graduate Studies. The Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani who also helms the role of Interior Minister was present during the graduation ceremony. The graduation ceremony was held at St Regis Doha.

Alongside the Prime Minister, Dr. Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi the Education Minister of Qatar and the Minister of Higher Education; Dr. Ali bin Smarikh al-Marri, chairman of National Human Rights Committee and Saleh Mohamed al-nabit were also present at the event. There were several guests along with relatives and parents who were present to congratulate the students.

During the event, Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the achievements of the Doha Institute and also applauded the contribution of the educational institution to aid the students in achieving greater heights.

Sheikh Abdullah noted that higher education, education, and scientific research are the most important pillars of the digitalized modernized world that the world is rushing to. These attributes safeguard the welfare of the countries and at the same time provides a backbone to the status of the country in both national and global level. Modernization also plays an essential role in the interaction between distinctive cultures as well as people.

Sheikh Abdullah also said that the crown prince of the country has been propagating the importance of higher education in the modern world. And His Highness has also promised that the government will provide every single thing that the education sector around the country needs.

In the last few years, modern history has taught people around the world and in Qatar that without development of human beings, the economic growth of a country is not possible. Having tremendous economic growth is meaningless if the growth will not aid and benefit the people living in a society or a country. Having wise and productive people is the permanent wealth of nations around the world, said Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah.
